The Room Corner Test is used to evaluate the reaction of wall and ceiling products to fire when installed at the surface of a small room and exposed directly to a specified ignition source. The test is performed in a fire scenario, which starts under well-ventilated conditions in a corner of a specified room with a single open doorway.
Room Corner Test Equipment consists of
• Room Corner Test Equipment containing a test room, collection hood & ducts, Instrumented duct, gas flow control system, data acquisition system, gas concentration analysis system, and windows operating software.
• The test room shall be constructed of non-combustible material and with an internal size of 2.4m long, 2.4m wide, and 2.4m high.
• The stainless steel made hood is mounted centrally above the opening of the test room. The size is 3m x 3m and 1m in height.
• The exhaust duct is 400mm in diameter and connected to the exhaust hood.
• The exhaust system has the capacity to collect all combustion gas generated from the burning material. Capacity not less than 12000 m3/h.
• Instrumented duct, including pressure probe, thermocouples, sampling probe, and optical measurement unit.
• The pressure probe is a bi-directional probe, made of stainless steel, connected to the pressure transmitter through a Teflon tube.
• Pressure transmitter installed in the integrated collection section, short-range accurate detection of pressure changes, range 0-2000 Pa, accuracy ±5 Pa, T90 response time less than 1 second.
• Three K-type thermocouples to measure the pipe temperature, diameter 0.5mm, and meet the requirements of EN 60584 armoured insulated K-type thermocouples.
