Description

PINETTE PEI is a leading supplier of hydraulic presses for forming thermoplastic and thermoset composites. For the production of carbon fiber-based polymer composites and polymers such as PEEK or PPS – thermoplastics which are widely used in industry – consolidation is an essential operation. PINETTE PEI offers consolidation presses which can be sold on their own or integrated into high-speed industrial production systems. THE CONSOLIDATION PROCESS FOR THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITES Thermoplastic composites can be used to produce parts with highly complex shapes. However, before a finished part can be obtained, the polymer and fibers must first be transformed into consolidated thermoplastic sheets. This can be achieved by heating the plies to the polymer’s melting temperature, compressing the plies and cooling them under pressure to room temperature. All heating and compression phases are controlled by our own PLCs to guarantee precision and efficiency. Our presses and systems can operate in manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic mode, depending on your requirements. PINETTE PEI is committed to supporting its customers in their innovation efforts. That’s why we also produce customized consolidation presses and industrial systems for R&D applications. We pride ourselves on providing innovative, PINETTE PEI also supplies customized machines for in-situ consolidation of thermoplastics. To manufacture consolidated carbon plates with PEEK, PEI, PPS or PEKK matrix, we supply compression presses equipped with heating and cooling platens that reach 450°C and achieve homogeneity – from + / – 5°C to 400°C – on the consolidated plates.
