OverviewThe Wedeco BX series uses low-pressure Spektotherm® UV radiators delivering high-intensity ultraviolet radiation with low energy consumption and limited heat generation. Spektotherm® radiators operate at around 100ºC compared with 600–800ºC for typical medium-pressure lamps, enabling effective operation in elevated-temperature environments.
Performance and purposeWedeco BX lamps are designed to inactivate microorganisms such as Legionella in hot water circuits. Their temperature-resistant low-pressure design ensures reliable disinfection performance in warm and hot water applications where conventional lamps may fail.
Characteristic features- Compliance with DVGW and ÖNORM standards
- High disinfection efficiency with low energy consumption
- Optional fully automatic cleaning system and Vario system
- Effectiveness validated by biodosimetric testing
- Temperature-resistant Spektotherm® radiators
- Compact design with U or Z connections and configurable flow direction
- Continuous performance monitoring via integrated UV sensor
- Easy integration with external process control systems
- Constructed in acid-resistant steel
- No disinfection by-products
Areas of applicationDrinking waterWedeco BX systems are suitable for water utilities and treatment plants for disinfection of drinking water.
Industrial waterApplicable where drinking-quality water is used in production processes (food, cosmetics, rinsing, recycling). Short overall length and U/Z connections allow straightforward retrofit into existing pipelines.
Warm water / LegionellaSpecifically suitable for inactivating Legionella in hot water circuits thanks to temperature-resistant Spektotherm® lamps that maintain output at elevated temperatures.
Purified sewageBX systems can be applied for disinfection in wastewater treatment and for reuse applications.
UV dose controlOptional fully automatic dose control adjusts lamp output to water quality and flow, preventing overdosing while maintaining required UV dose. Continuous lamp output monitoring reduces operating costs.
