Description

Overview
Piston-diaphragm MEMDOS KMS dosing pumps combine the advantages of diaphragm and piston pumps and include a built-in safety valve to ensure safe operation. Depending on the model, MEMDOS KMS pumps can operate with capacities from 6.0 l/h (at back pressure up to 10 bar) up to 1536 l/h (with back pressure up to 4 bar).

Pumping element and performance
The pumping element is a piston with a diaphragm: the diaphragm ensures system tightness during operation (important when dosing harmful or aggressive media) and is resistant to abrasive media, while the piston enables dosing of greater capacities at higher discharge pressures compared to diaphragm-only pumps. Piston pumps provide a rectilinear relationship between stroke size setting and capacity.

Safety
Each pump is equipped with a built-in safety valve selected for the pump's capacity and maximum discharge pressure. The valve prevents damage to the pump or installation in the event of exceeding permissible pressure values.

Materials and construction
MEMDOS KMS pumps are made of metal for resistance to mechanical damage. Pump elements that come into contact with the dosed medium (head, seals, hose connectors) are available in various material versions depending on intended use: PVC, PP, PVDF and stainless steel 1.4571.

Adjustment and variants
Pumps can be adjusted manually via a knob with a 0–100% capacity scale and by electric stroke length adjustment (actuator with potentiometer controlled by a 4–20 mA signal). MEMDOS ZKMS is a variant with two dosing heads (same or different capacities) available for pumps with capacities of 582 l/h and more; the symmetrical design allows the piston collar to be mounted on both sides of the dosing units, ensuring a compact design.

Manufacturer
The manufacturer of MEMDOS KMS piston-diaphragm dosing pumps is the German company Lutz-Jesco GmbH, with decades of experience in dosing and disinfection solutions. Lutz-Jesco supplies products for dosing and transporting liquid, solid and gaseous media, measurement and control units, complete disinfection systems and a full range of spare parts.
