In the process of cathode materials manufacturing, metal sulfates are precisely dosed into the precipitation tanks. These fluids are highly corrosive and the absence of foreign metals in this part of the process is critical. Therefore, all equipment such as control valves or on/off valves must be made of solid polymer materials, not lined metals that would sooner or later be reached by the chemical. The dosing ratio of the components requires high precision control valves, reliable on the long term. SAFI Valves and Techlink have developed a ball valve for the cathode material industry, equipped with a shaped V-orifice enabling accurate dosing of chemicals. This solution has been successfully implemented in battery manufacturing plants with several years’ experience.
