Product OverviewThe UV-1900i Plus is a double-beam UV-Vis spectrophotometer with LO-RAY-LIGHT™ diffraction grating technology. It provides 1 nm resolution across 190–1100 nm, low stray light and noise, and ultra-fast scanning up to 29,000 nm/min. The instrument supports multiple measurement modes for laboratory QC, R&D and pharmacopoeial workflows and operates standalone via a color touchscreen or under PC control with LabSolutions UV-Vis. Improved CPU and integrated data handling streamline routine analysis and validation tasks.
Key Performance and Features- Optical system: Double-beam design with LO-RAY-LIGHT™ diffraction grating and Czerny–Turner monochromator delivering 1 nm spectral resolution.
- Ultra-fast scan: Up to 29,000 nm/min (190–1100 nm) for rapid spectrum acquisition on changing samples.
- Low stray light & noise: Stray light ≤ 0.5% (198 nm) and low photometric noise enabling high-absorbance and low-concentration measurements.
- Photometric performance: Repeatability to 0.0002 Abs max. (at 0.5 Abs and 1.0 Abs) for accurate quantitative work.
- User interface: Multilingual color touchscreen with large icons for standalone operation; PC control available with LabSolutions UV-Vis.
- Operation modes: Standalone touchscreen or PC control; support for networked data transfer and wireless printing (with compatible hardware).
- Validation & compliance: Built-in validation functions and optional USP/EP validation software; supports pharmacopeia workflows (JP, USP, EP).
- Security & data integrity: Role-based user authority, audit trail support and LabSolutions options for regulatory compliance (FDA 21 CFR Part 11 / PIC/S GMP).
- Daily usability: Assist checks, Shutdown/Wakeup scheduling, Startup Validation and barcode/keyboard data entry support.
Measurement Modes- Photometric — single or multi-wavelength photometric measurements (up to 8 wavelengths).
- Spectrum — full-spectrum acquisition by wavelength scan.
- Quantitation — calibration curve generation and concentration calculation for unknowns.
- Kinetics — absorbance vs time for reaction rates and enzymatic assays.
- Time Course — time-dependent photometric monitoring at a fixed wavelength.
- Biomethod — DNA and protein quantitation protocols.
Assist, Startup, Shutdown & Wakeup FunctionsThe Assist function verifies baseline, auto-zero and blank corrections and alerts operators if checks are missing. Shutdown places the instrument in sleep to conserve power and extend lamp life. Wakeup can be scheduled to ensure the instrument is ready on demand. Startup Validation performs automated performance checks at power-up (wavelength accuracy/repeatability, degradation, noise, baseline flatness/stability, EP/USP checks).
Network & Data ManagementData transfer to PC over network is supported (router required; optional expanded memory for some features). Wireless printing to compatible printers and integration with LabSolutions UV-Vis, LabSolutions DB UV-Vis and LabSolutions CS UV-Vis are available for advanced data management and regulatory workflows.
Application Notes & Practical UseTypical applications include nucleotide purity and quantitation, Hazen color scale assessment of raw materials, and high-speed spectral analysis of time-dependent samples using ultra-fast scan mode. Accessories and application notes are available to adapt the instrument to specific laboratory workflows.
