Description

Overview
Siviko ACT 15 is an automated cable test system designed for non-destructive resistance and AC high-voltage testing of multi-conductor cables. It automates conductor switching, data acquisition, safety monitoring and report generation, making it suitable for installation and manufacturing quality control of cables with up to five wires.

Highlights
  • Scope
    • Siviko ACT 15 performs conductor resistance measurements up to 20 kΩ, AC test voltage up to 4 kV and maximum currents up to 4 A.
    • Accepts cables up to 15 km in length with cross-sections from 0.1 to 50 mm2.
    • Includes 10 measurement leads with 5 red and 5 black crocodile clips.
    • Maximum single measurement time 15 min 59 sec.
    • Capable of executing tests aligned with standards such as EN 50525, DIN VDE 0276-603, DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228, BS 6004/5.

  • Safety
    • Independent hardware and software safety chains.
    • Safety fence with auto-lock units and emergency buttons.
    • Automatic grounding unit SIVIKO AGS and overvoltage/short-circuit protections.
    • Visual indicators and smart algorithms to protect equipment and operators against incorrect operations or power surges.

  • Ease of use
    • Operator connects color-coded test leads, selects cable type and enters length; the system handles switching, measurements and reporting.
    • Automated switching between conductors, continuous safety monitoring and automatic test report preparation.
    • Bilingual reports produced in PDF and CSV formats, available locally and remotely.
    • Test leads hang from balancers to reduce wear caused by cable reels.

  • Software
    • Siviko OS and an integrated PLC (WAGO PFC200) perform automated tests, switching, data logging, safety control and report generation.
    • Automated fault localization procedures locate short-circuits and line breaks with high accuracy.
    • Built-in user management and configurable settings; supports copper, aluminium and other conductor types.

Value added
Siviko ACT 15 enables fast, safe and non-destructive quality testing of cables by automating resistance and high-voltage procedures, enforcing safety chains and producing standards-based pass/fail reports without interrupting production flow.

Why perform electric tests?
Resistance measurements verify conductor material and cross-section integrity; high-voltage withstand tests assess insulation quality. Detecting breaks or insulation faults prevents shorts, equipment damage and safety hazards in downstream applications.

Challenges
Manual AC high-voltage testing is time-consuming and requires dedicated high-voltage sources, calibrated instruments, manual switching and record keeping. Automation reduces risk, saves time and improves repeatability.

Automated
Siviko ACT 15 integrates an AC high-voltage source (up to 4 kV), calibrated measurement modules, PLC-driven switching, data collection, safety monitoring and report printing. Test parameters from applicable standards can be preloaded into the system.
