This quick-opening dry pipe accelerator reduces the time for valve operation when a sprinkler is activated.
UL and C-UL Listed, FM and LPCB Approved; allowed for use in VdS Approved DPV-1 assemblies
Designed for use with Model DPV-1 dry pipe valves — 2-½-, 3-, 4- or 6-inch sizes
Speeds operation of the dry pipe valve upon loss of air pressure
For Use With DPV-1 Valves
The Tyco® Model ACC-1 dry pipe accelerator attaches to the Tyco® Model DPV-1 dry pipe valve to allow faster valve operation. It automatically adjusts to both small and slow changes in system pressure, but it trips when there is a rapid and steady drop in pressure (like during a sprinkler operation). Upon tripping, the accelerator transmits system air pressure to the intermediate chamber of the Model DPV-1 dry pipe valve. This neutralizes the differential pressure holding the Model DPV-1 dry pipe valve closed and permits it to open. The ACC-1 has a unique, positive action; an internal anti-flood device; and a ball float that combine to prevent water and water-borne debris from entering the more sensitive operating areas of the accelerator.
Features
Designed to trip when system air pressure drops at a rate exceeding approximately 1 psi/minute (0.07 bar/min)
Upon tripping, it transmits system air pressure to the intermediate chamber of the dry pipe valve, which neutralizes the differential pressure holding the valve closed and opens the waterway clapper
UL and C-UL Listed, FM and LPCB Approved
Maximum water supply pressure: 250 psi (17,2 bar)
Maximum system air (or nitrogen) pressure of 70 psi (4,8 bar)
