Product overview
A X-ring is a double-acting sealing element with an x-shaped profile featuring four sealing lips. It is suitable for both static and dynamic applications. The parting line of the mould/tool lies outside the sealing area, and a lubricant reservoir can form between the sealing lips, which is beneficial in dynamic service. X-rings are installed using groove dimensions similar to standard O-rings and are produced in a wide range of elastomeric compounds.

Materials and compatibility

• Common materials: NBR (nitrile), FKM (fluorocarbon), EPDM, HNBR, FFKM and PTFE-coated variants.
• Compatibility with oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, gases and many solvents depends on elastomer selection; consult material datasheets.

Installation and dimensions

• Designed to fit O-ring style grooves with minor adjustments to depth/width; follow supplier groove recommendations.
• Can provide radial or axial sealing depending on groove geometry.
