Product descriptionThe UH profile U-ring is an elastomeric connector seal designed for sealing screw connections and screw-in sockets according to DIN EN ISO 1179-2 (imperial) and DIN EN ISO 9974-2 (metrical), formerly DIN 3869. When compressed, the profile is pressed into the groove and creates a seal between the two flat mating surfaces.
MaterialsFields of application- static
- dynamic
- single acting
- double acting
- linear
- rotating (inactive)
- oscillating
Main useSealing of connection elements (screw connections and screw-in sockets)
Advantages- Suitable for high-pressure applications (material dependent)
- Simple and fast assembly in standardized grooves
- Standardized dimensions for interchangeability
Standards and application notesElastomeric profile rings manufactured according to DIN EN ISO 1179-2 and DIN EN ISO 9974-2 (former DIN 3869) for sealing connecting elements and screw-in sockets. Groove dimensions according to DIN 3852 Part 11.
Technical values- Materials available: NBR, EPDM, FKM
- NBR — Pressure: up to 63 MPa; Temperature: -30°C / +80°C (material dependent)
- EPDM — Pressure: up to 63 MPa; Temperature: -40°C / +130°C (material dependent)
- FKM — Pressure: up to 63 MPa; Temperature: -20°C / +200°C (material dependent)
- Speed: not applicable / no specification
Design informationInstall the seal into a screw connection groove or screw-in socket per DIN 3852 Part 11. Process pressures up to max. 63 MPa depending on material. U-rings are not suitable for securing screws.
Assembly instructions- Defined insertion angles; burr-free, rounded transitions
- Surface quality: Ra < 1.6 µm, Rmax < 6.3 µm
- Burr-free rounded holes and slots
- Avoid damage caused by threads
- Use installation tools to pass over sharp edges and corners (e.g. threads)
- Ensure clean sealing surfaces
- Do not overstretch the UH-ring during installation
