Product Overview
Grade 43 mooring chain with electro-galvanized finish in half drum configuration. Electronically welded chain supplied with clevis grab hooks on binder chain ends. Meets or exceeds NACM and ASTM (A391 & A413) standards. Proof tested and certified. NOT for overhead lifting. NEVER exceed published working load limit (WLL).

Introduction
Grade 43 is a high-test steel binder chain offering approximately 50% higher working load limit than Proof Coil (Grade 30). Commonly used for mooring, towing and log binder applications where high strength-to-weight is required. Not approved for overhead lifting. Binder chains are typically fitted with clevis grab hooks at each end for quick connection.

Parameter / Definitions

• Grade of Chain: Classification by NACM and ASTM; higher grade indicates greater WLL for the same chain size.
• Working Load Limit (WLL): Maximum recommended working load in direct tension for an undamaged straight length of chain.
• Proof Test: Manufacturing test force applied to verify integrity during production; not a design criterion.
• Minimum Breaking Force: Acceptance test result indicating minimum breaking strength; not to be used for design calculations.
• Overhead Lifting: Any lifting that would position a freely suspended load where a drop could cause injury or damage; Grade 43 chain is NOT approved for this use.
