DescriptionInternal stainless steel snap rings have no ears in your assembly. They are manufactured by coiling the ring from flat wire; this process produces a retaining ring with no protruding ears or burrs to interfere with your assembly. Because coiling produces a retaining ring with no scrap, the spiral retaining ring can be economically produced in carbon steel, stainless steel, copper and many other alloys. No gap – 360° retaining surface. No protruding ears interfere with mating components (uniform cross-section). Economically produced in stainless steel because the coiling process produces no scrap. No charge on custom designs. Easy installation and removal.

Usage / InstallationThe internal spiral retaining ring is installed in a pre-machined inner groove of a round hole and is used to locate and retain components axially. The outer diameter of the internal snap ring is slightly larger than the assembly hole diameter; installation and removal use the ring's elasticity. Circlip-type pliers are typically used to install or remove the ring by engaging the pliers into the ring and compressing it into the groove. Common materials used include 65Mn, SUS304 and SUS316.
