The 5 series control cabinets can receive from 4 to 16 modular controllers of type 5TD, 5TX or 5TCOM. Each controller is used to carry and maintain a defined temperature in a machine zone or a hot runner.
The 4-pins male connector placed at the rear of the cabinets allows the connection with an injection moulding machine or a computer for data transfer according to the protocol defined in EUROMAP 17 Standard.
Applications
The 5 series cabinets has been specifically designed for applications with an average number from 4 to 16 zones. The maximum working power of the cabinets varies from 20kW to 24kW 3ph in 400V and from 12kW to 16kW 3ph in 230V. (Automotive, Technical moulding industry, etc.).

Its many functions of safety ensure a high quality of regulation in the difficult cases.
Applications
The 5TCOM controller is dedicated to general use requiring a power up to 4600 W per zone, and a particular monitoring of temperature conditions (sensitive plastics matters for example). The integrated communication according to Euromap 17 standard, allows a direct downloading of data moulds and report alarms from the moulding machine.
With the Multizone control system, the controller 5TCOM is generally used in the control of manifold in partnership with controller 7TC, running with Win’Sise software.

The new SISE "World Series" controller, compatible with all standard mainframes, is a single zone modular controller to be fitted into cabinets for 4 to 12 channels. The controller features a double display and a unique user-friendly "Click and Rotate" control button. Libratherm offers Microprocessor based Eight loop PID Temperature Controller (Model PID-8000) for processes requiring multiple zones heating or heating plus cooling control. It is most suitable for difficult process, which results in frequent system disturbances, and applications where accurate temperature of number of heating/cooling zone is required. It also eliminates the need for number of individual PID or ON/OFF Temperature Controllers thereby saves on panel size and cost. PID-8000 can accept 8 Thermocouples or RTD (Pt-100) inputs and can provide switching PID or ON/OFF Control output in the form of DC Pulses or SSR Drivers for heating as well as cooling. DESCRIPTION:
Libratherm offers Microprocessor based Eight Zone PID Temperature indicator / Controller (Model PRC-8000)where accurate temperature control of multiple zone during Gradual Heating and Cooling is required. Each zone can be independently programmed for 16 steps of Ramp/Soak profile. Each loop parameters like PID, Hysteresis, Deviation Hold, Facility to skip unused channel etc can be programmed from the user-friendly front panel membrane keyboard.
PRC 8000 accepts 8 Thermocouples or RTD(Pt-100)3 wire inputs and can provide switching PID or ON/OFF Control output in the form of DC Pulses or SSR or relay to drive external load contactors. It can simultaneously provide 8 analog PID control outputs in the form of (4-20)mA or (0-5)volt, which can be used to control heater power through Thyristor power pack.
PRC-8000 is ideally suited for on line pre and post welding heat treatment cycle. Where the large size jobs are heated by local heating pads. Temperatures are sensed using 6 to 8 K type thermocouples fitted at different points. The serial interface of RS-485 in Modbus protocol is also available for operating the controller from remote computer, SCADA or DCS system.

These are advanced controls offering the ramp/soak programmability with PID control outputs.. It is possible to control the temperature as per the desired rate of heating / cooling with the required soaking time. Different models offers different features with the facility to program 1 to 10 patterns of sixteen ramp/soak steps, which can be permanently stored in the internal non-volatile memory. The controller accepts Thermocouple or Pt-100 or mV/mA signal as the input and provides control output in the form of DC pulse, 4-20mA, 0-5V etc.. to operate various control devices such as Relay, Contactors, Motorized valves, Thyristor power pack etc...
All the models are available with serial RS485 output on MODBUS protocol and can be hooked to the computer. The supporting window based software allows programming of controller through PC as well as for on-line monitoring and storage of ramp/soak heating cycles. These controllers can be customized with dedicated logic control for special purpose heat treatment applications such as hardening, annealing, tampering etc...

Thermostats can be divided into two types :
- Mechanical thermostats, with e.g. capillary tubes as external sensors
- Electronic thermostats, with resistance sensors as external sensors.
Both types of thermostats control the output on/off around the desired temperature, which means that the temperature fluctuations around the set value can be wide. By using electronic thermostats, the precision of regulation can be adjusted to achieve somewhat lesser fluctuations. See the temperature curve for on/off control. The choice of thermostat depend on among other things in which environment it should be used. In a shop setting an electronic thermostat is often selected. It is visually more appealing, but has a lower protection class. In an industrial setting with higher demand on protection class, a capillary tube
thermostat is often selected.
Electronic output regulation
Electronic, proportional output regulation results in the optimal contribution of heating energy to the building based on the current temperature. Output is turned on and off in pulses of varying length
depending on how far the temperature is from the set value.
The temperature reaches the desired level faster and fluctuations around the set value are avoided.
