Almost every pneumatic tool would have the max. torque at around 6 bar. Higher pressures (which is often the fact as many users just plug in the tool and use the prevailing working pressure f. inst. 8 or more bar) is just waist of energy and money. It would not give more torch - on the contrary - it is just changing into heat. And many available pneumatic tools on the market can only withstand a max. pressure of 8 bar.
If the user dismount the hose from the tool or outlet directly a residual pressure would still prevail on the secondary side of the regulator. This residual pressure could make the pneumatic tool to work for a short period of time. An unintentional activation of the tool could have desastrous consequences - no matter the type of pneumatic tool. The worst incident that can happen is on a pneumatic tacker, nailgun or the like. An unintentional activation on the trigger f. example can result in 5 - 10 shots. No reason to say that bad enjuries would be the result.

ROSS regulators are made in a wide range of sizes to suit nearly all industrial requirements for pneumatic pressure regulation. Good pressure regulation is essential to the efficient use of pneumatic equipment. A compressor may supply
air at 150 psig, but most of the equipment will operate best at lower pressures. A cylinder, for example, may develop sufficient force for its purpose with 50-psig air. Remember that compressed air is costly, so using higher air pressure than necessary is wasteful, and may also shorten the life of the cylinder. A general purpose pressure regulator is the answer for greater economy and efficiency.

The operation of the flow control is based on the movement of a small disc. The flat surface on one side of the orificed disc seals and permits flow through the orifice. The amount of flow permitted in the reverse direction is determined by the orifice size. In the forward direction full flow is permitted. The flow controls design allows a maximum supply pressure of 75 PSI with a minimum cracking pressure of less than 10 H2O. Orifice sizes are available from .004 to .040.

The PRS6 is a three-way pressure reducing valve that has been developed to give reduced pressure in a particular part of the hydraulic system. 26A: Small Pressure Regulators, 2-Way
Description:
Series 26A Small Pressure Regulators are used in small general purpose applications to regulate pressure in piping systems using water and No. 2 fuel oil. It consists of a brass body construction with NPT threaded female inlet and outlet connections, 1/4 in. 2-way low-pressure gauge port, aluminum spring cage, Buna-N stainless steel disc, reinforced Buna-N diaphragm, and tee handle adjustment. Options include Viton trim and slotted adjusting screw. Strainers are recommended. Series 26A has an oversized orifice and is ideal for use on beverage dispensing and paint spraying equipment, ice cube machines, humidifiers, drinking fountains, and other small process applications. Maximum Working Pressure: 300psi (21 bar).
