The scientist Blaise Pascal formulated the principle of pressure propagation in liquids many years ago:
”A liquid confined in a vessel which is subjected to pressure distributes the pressure uniformly upon the walls of the vessel. ”
ETP has explored the many positive qualities in this principle, developed it further and applied it to the hub-shaft connections.
”A hydraulic pressure medium confined in a double-walled sleeve is pressurized (with screws/pistons or with an external pump). The pressure is distributed evenly along and around hub/shaft. The double-walled sleeve expands uniformly and gives an even contact pressure against shaft and hub ”.
The ETP-Principle works because of the hydraulic system: compact design, fast mounting, easy to position, good runout, does not damage the contact surfaces and is easy to dismantle. These qualities are important today and will be even more important in the future.

Actuated wave hub connection with high truth of running SPIETH pressure cases spring temper wave hub connections with a truth of running of 0,01mm is better or. The Candy Timing Hub is the low cost phase adjusting coupling designed for precise rotary positioning. While in motion, the Timing Hub operates as a rigid shaft coupling. In the static position, it is possible to relocate one of the Timing Hub's flanges relative to the other, thus changing the rotary position of the output element. When both flanges are secured with the use of drive bolts, the Timing Hub again operates as a rigid shaft coupling.
The ability to advance and retard the position of various machine components is too often accomplished by friction-type clamping mechanisms. Such methods often slip under moderate shock loads, resulting in unnecessary and costly downtime. The Timing Hub eliminates the need for such devices, offering the most economical means of positive position control.
