Rotary Lobe Pumps - TopLobe and TopWing
The original design of the rotary lobe pump goes back to the early 40’s and has since then been further developed and improved. Johnson Pump has long experience in rotary lobe pumps. Market knowledge and appreciation of customer needs have been used to improve the existing rotary lobe pump concept with new features and customer benefits.
Rotary lobe pumps are easy to clean and have gentle product handling characteristics. They contain few cavities, which reduces the risk of bacterial growth and makes them particularly suitable for the transport of sensitive fluids – from glue to whole strawberries.

| Marketed as Viking Pump in the U.S., and as Johnson Pump (U.K.) in the rest of the world, these hygienic pumps offer more than 40 displacements in six series. With EHEDG and 3A certifications, there are models designed for strip-clean, C.I.P., and aseptic processing of foods and pharmaceuticals. Providing low shear for product integrity, they can handle everything from ultrapure water to highly viscous products like peanut butter. |
|
Gear pumps are used in all types of manufacturing industries for the transportation of both thin and thick liquids, from choccolate to diesel fuel. Our gear pumps have sturdy design, offering high reliability as well as long life.
Johnson Pump's gear pump design is based on an internal idler gear rotating inside of a larger rotor. Internal gear pumps are robust, give an even flow, handle both low and high viscosity products, are capable of high pressure and are self-priming.
Johnson Pump manufactures the TopGear-series of internal gear pumps; with the TG L-range for low viscosity - high volumetric efficiency, TG G-range for general purpose and the TG H-range for high demanding applications.

Positive displacement pumps
Positive displacement pumps have a capacity directly proportional to the rotation speed and virtually independent of the differential pressure. They can handle liquids of all viscosities by reducing the rotation speed as the viscosity increases. There are many different types, for example, gear pumps (internal and external), progressing cavity pumps, screw pumps, lobe pumps, etc. |

|
The pumps are based on the geometry and properties of the cycloid. In fact, they are lobe pumps (or internal gear pumps). All of the main components are made of sintered materials. In the development of these two types of technology, we have given an emphasis to high performance in terms of capacity and pressure in proportion to the pump size (owing to the reduction in unused volume), as well as to duration and lower noise level (owing to the porosity offered by the powder metallurgy).
Self-lubrication is another important property intrinsic to every model of this product, and it is a guarantee against buckling.

|
| With five series, including 30 displacements, Viking Pump offers the broadest line of industrial lobe pumps in the world. Providing low shear, high efficiency and pressures to 27 bar, these stainless steel pumps offer a broad variety of rotor forms and shaft sealing options. | The High-Speed Compact internal gear pumps offer heavy-duty design and small footprint for rotating equipment lubrication such as compressors and turbines. They are just one of many options that Viking offers for lubrication pumps. Others include gearbox lube pumps that pump in one direction regardless of shaft rotation, pump kits for OEM lubrication applications, and a variety of internal gear, external gear and gerotor pumps suitable for lube oil and grease applications, |
|
APPLICATION:
The type oil gear pump AD-L is ideally suited in single-line centralized lubrication systems. In these systems, lubricant is being delivered intermittently under pressure (pressurizing - and relief cycles) through the main feed lines towards the meter elements installed downflow and
from there through the lube lines to the points of application.
FUNCTION:
The oil lubricator basically consists of a gear pump with A.C. single-phase motor, the oil reservoir, the electronic control unit and a valve which ensures that the line is depressurized when the A.C. single-phase motor is switched off (relief cycle). An integral pressure relief valve is opened as soon as reaching a pressure of 2 MPa (20 bar) thus protecting the oil gear pump from damage in the event of an overpressure situation occuring. After relief the main line, the valve maintains a resudial pressure of approx. 0.08 MPa (0.8 bar) and thus prevents that the main line runs empty. The entire system is either time- or pulse controlled, at choice. |

TopGear MAG - Protecting your future
TopGear MAG is a range of leak-proof internal gear pumps for low and high viscous liquids which are corrosive, toxic, aggressive or expensive.
Total containment of the liquid inside the pump is achieved using a hermetically sealed can, which isolates the liquid from the surrounding environment. This eliminates the need for shaft seals and the associated wear and leakage that would normally be experienced. The Magnetic Drive pumps are therefore not only environmentally friendly – they also contribute to improved safety in chemical and process plant environments.
Complying amongst others with the “ATEX” (ATmospheres EXplosibles) directive, magnetic drive pumps make an important contribution to health and safety on process plants.
TopGear MAG provides environmental, human, legal and economical protection - |
