Since the real corrosive environment changes from day to day (or faster), labs expose samples to various environmental stresses that promote corrosion. Lab technicians spend countless hours transferring specimens from one environment to another; a salt fog cabinet for corrosion; an oven for dry heat; a sink for direct spray, etc. Newer technology in corrosion equipment now creates these desired environments within one cabinet that significantly reduces the need to move or otherwise touch test specimens.
CCX Advanced Cyclic Corrosion Cabinet
Performs advanced cyclic corrosion tests - as well as basic cyclic tests and traditional salt fog (spray) and humidity tests.

The Test in Fog Salina Spray consist in an accelerated corrosion attack by an artificial fog saline spray of defined composition, in the precise conditions of temperature and pressure. An important characteristic of this kind of Test with respect to another ones of simulation of ambiental conditions is their perfect reproductibility that allows to realize the Corrosion Test in a controlled, comfortable and practical way, according to the present Legal Regulations. Our Chambers are easy adapted to all these Legal Regulations.

Walk In Corrosion Test Chamber
In this chamber test specimens are exposed to salt spray or condensed water. The system comprises of three major as-semblies: test chamber, brine solution storage tank and switch cabinet.
The brine solution storage tank can hold 600 or 1000 litres. Thus, long term tests lasting for several days are feasible. Tests performed under these conditions provide valuable knowledge of the corrosion behaviour of materials.
Main Advantages
- Corrosion-resistant interior surfaces made of GFK, shock and scratchresistant
- Exterior surface made of aluminium, white coated
- Homogenous temperature-conditioning of test space
- Service-friendly thanks to easily accessible functional units
- Self-supporting hard foam elements that can be assembled on site
- Modular design allows for different chamber sizes
- High floor load of test space
- Sprayed brine volume can be set and measured from outside

SAL Table Top models 400 L / 1000 L
The unique 400 L salt spray cabinet can be placed either on an existing laboratory table or on the original VLM support. This offers the most convenient and space saving configuration of the cabinet, test solution reservoir and water purification plant. Only compressed air has to supplied. If there is no central plant you will find very low-noise compressors among the accessories.
Front door opening cabinets allow most convenient loading of the chamber particularly with hanging specimen. Moreover the cleaning of the chamber is easy. Due to the high level of the drain port there will be enough downward slope to the commonly installed siphons.
The side walls of the chamber are made of polyethylene with milled holes for the specimen support. The water trough, the back wall and the inner roof are made of stainless steel coated with Halar® (ECTFE). This unique design allows a quick transfer of the heat into the chamber. Together with the advanced temperature control system best conditions for the precise tempering of the chamber are provided.
For that reason SAL cabinets can also be applied to conducting of high humidity tests after the extension by the working system „CON“.

Liebisch desk type units are supplied with 300 litre test chamber volume. They are used for condensation water tests with or without pollution gas (e.g. DIN EN ISO 6270-2, DIN 50018). Options are available to meet customer test requirements.
Constanzo®
These units are available with or without automatic ventilation. With the automatic ventilation the user needn’t open the test chamber door during ventilation periods. Ambient air passes through the test chamber. The test chamber temperature range is max. 50°C, the increased operating temperature system (EA) allows a temperature of up to 60°C

Alternatively to our salt spray tests bench top cabinets and HD-chest models we offer the most favourable "ECONOMY" chests with 600L and 1000 L chamber capacity. These models are especially designed pursuant to the requirements of salt spray tests according to ASTM B117, ASTM B368, BS 3900 ECCA T8 JIS 7253 DIN 50021 SS, ESS,CASS resp. ISO 9227.
The side- and front walls are made from polypropylene. Following the VLM prinicles the EC-chest model are as well furnished with a ECTFE coated stainless steel bottom. Compared to conventinal chests the EC-chambers show a considerably better heat conductivity. For this reason the chamber will be heated up evenly and rapidly. Moreover due to this benefit, EC-chests can also be used for high humidity tests with constant water condensation pursuant to ISO 6270-2 CH.
The EC-cabinets are furnished with a transparent cover with turnable locks at both sides with a "dry" seal made of silicon foam. Hence, there is not only a convenient cleaning or loading of the chamber with the specimens. More important: As the chamber is hermetically closed during the tests there is no risk of contamination of the lab by escaping salt mist. An air purge is a serial feature and has to be activated before the cover is opened.

Corrosive atmosphere chambers subject test items to corrosion without introducing other contaminants into the test area.
Associated Environmental Systems' salt spray chambers are entirely self-contained. The basic chamber conforms to military specifications, including MIL-STD-810, and is also used for many commercial and ASTM specifications.
The MX-9200 corrosive atmosphere chamber:
* Has a transparent Lucite test area that is impervious to corrosion.
* Provides continuous direct visual observation of the test item.
* Contains thermostats and metallic items made of Monel to avoid transference and minimize corrosion.
* Provides lucite rods to hang or support items within the test area.
* Performscontinuous unattended tests for up to 72 hours. This period may be extended by adding an external storage tank, a tower level control and a salt solution reservoir level control to automatically refill the system.

New testing methods issued by the automotive industry require cycling climate condition in a considerably extended range from -30°C up to + 80°C. Those tests had to be carried out up to now in separate testing chambers designed for climate tests respectively for conducting corrosion tests comprising salt spray.
Now the new ClimaCORR Multifunction cabinet, developed by VLM GMBH Germany allows the complete test procedure in the same testing chamber.
The recently developed MultiCORR-testing procedure, respectively the developed advanced PLC offer best qualifications for a high precision of the reproducibility of the testing cycles.
