Many customer requests and special applications require non-contact temperature measurement solutions which challenge IMPAC beyond the conventional. As a consequence IMPAC has developed numerous special pyrometers, optimized for the specific demands of a wide range of industries and applications.
Examples are:
- Pyrometer series’ using two-colour technology (ratio pyrometers) for hostile environments.
- Pyrometers for the measurement on special materials (e.g. aluminium (IS 12-AL), flame measurement (IPE 140/45), glass, measurement in coking plants (IS 8-K plus), PE and PP foils (IPE 140/34), silicon (IS 12-Si), etc.).
- Pyrometers to measure a pouring stream of metals or alloys (IS 8 GS plus, ISR 12-LO/GS).
- Pyrometers with an integrated scanner to detect anomalies.
- Pyrometers with automatic calculation and correction of the emissivity (Quantum I, Mikron Infrared).
-Temperature switches (for fast hot object detection to trigger a process).
IMPAC also offers the development of customer specific instruments on request.

Non-contact temperature measurement is a standard technology in industrial manufacturing and in engineering processes. In glass manufacturing, metal working or food production, accurate temperature measurement is the crucial dimension to be considered during processing and monitoring.
IMPAC Infrared offers a broad variety of pyrometers – including the products of Mikron Infrared Inc., USA. – covering nearly all applications. The use of the correct device essentially depends on the material of the object to be measured, the expected temperature range and the mechanical conditions.

For extremely fast applications (up to 5 µs) IMPAC offers pyrometers of the KLEIBER High Speed Line and consequently can provide solutions for applications dealing with fastest processes. KLEIBER pyrometers feature the same excellent technical properties as IMPAC standard pyrometers, but with much shorter response times.
These pyrometers are typically used in the field of laser applications and in material research and development.
Moreover IMPAC offers measuring stations from KLEIBER. These contain a power supply, a digital display and a pyrometer. PID-controllers can also be integrated as an option.
An example for such a measuring station is the KS 740 HS-USB which features fastest response times with an online USB data transfer to a PC (including the needed analysis software).
