The Ascon’s deltadue offers several modules for I/Os, control and acquisition. Connectivity is guaranteed by MODBUS RTU serial comms and by gateways, line adapters, line converters, WebSCADA and Managers which allow to realize different architectures by connecting the modules to:
o A PLC or SCADA with MODBUS TCP via an Ethernet network or the web
o Any web browser for the configuration of HTML management pages and to MODBUS TCP SCADAs via an Ethernet network
o A MODBUS TCP SCADA (via an Ethernet network) and to a PLC (PROFIBUS DP or MODBUS RTU or DeviceNet) simultaneously
o CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, DeviceNet networks
o MODBUS RTU networks with different baud rate, parity and stop bits
o Two masters, such as Operator Panels, SCADA, PACs, simultaneously
The series include: universal analogical inputs (Pt100, T/C, mA, mV), digital inputs; universal control outputs (mA, relay, SSR), PID algorithm with overshoot control; heat/cool PID. The Manager provides: automatic learning and back-up of the configuration data of the modules; Hot Swapping to maximize process uptime; automatic configuration of replaced modules; the other modules work while replacing the failed module to reduce machine downtime; offline configuration to simplify start-up, when the modules are inserted, they are recognised, configured and parameters are downloaded; diagnostic, scanning of the connected modules to verify if they are the correct ones and if they work properly, actions can be taken quickly. Modules work as independent units; no backplanes or common modules are necessary. The Manager and the Gateways are needed only when their functions are necessary

Daisy-chained Ethernet I/O Connection
A new daisy-chained Ethernet I/O paradigm is now available. The ioLogik E1200 series industrial remote Ethernet I/O has two embedded Ethernet switch ports that allow information to flow to another local Ethernet device or connect to the next ioLogik in the daisy-chain. Applications such as factory automation, security and surveillance systems, and tunnel monitoring, can make use of daisy-chained Ethernet for building multi-drop I/O networks over standard Ethernet cables. Many industrial automation users are familiar with the multi-drop configuration typically used in fieldbus applications. The daisy-chain function on the remote Ethernet I/O ioLogik E1200 not only increases the connection between machines and panels, but also lowers the cost of buying separate Ethernet switches, and at the same time reduces labor fees and cabling by a large percentage.
Features:
•Built-in 2-port Ethernet switch for daisy-chain topologies
•Free support of Moxa’s push-based Active OPC Server Lite
- Seamlessly connect to any SCADA system
- Save 80% on network bandwidth
- I/O response that’s seven times faster
•User-defined Modbus/TCP addressing
•MXIO programming library for Windows and WinCE VB/VC.NET and Linux C APIs
•Web configuration with Import/Export function

Foundation Fieldbus H1 level has been designed as a digital replacement of the 4 to 20mA standard in the process industries. Foundation Fieldbus is also a LAN (Local Area Network) for instruments used in both process and manufacturing automation with built-in capability to distribute the control application across the network. The physical wiring is also fully compatible with intrinsic safety (IS) or nonincendive wiring standards and may be used in hazardous, as well as general purpose areas. In hazardous areas standard explosion-proofing or power limited concepts may be used, as well as IS concepts, offering greater cabling design flexibility.

RIO – (Remote Input Output) is a compact modular system of remote I/Omodules available from OSAI for the management and control, through a field bus, of inputs and outputs distributed throughout the plant.
The modular structure of each RIO block guarantees a high degree of flexibility to reduce installation and maintenance costs. In the event of a malfunction, the electronic section of any block can easily be replaced without having to disconnect cables. The status of each input and output on every block is displayed with a LED indicator. External cables are easily connented by inserting wires into simple contact blocks thus avoiding the inconvenience and uncertainty associated with traditional screw terminals.
All units use a simple “snap on” connection to the DIN support rail connected to the bus coupler so that a series of RIO blocks (digital, analogue and intelligent), can be installed in a variety of combinations.
RIO bus coupler : is an interface unit that connects the RIO blocks to the bus. It manages up to 8 modules.
RIO I/O MODULES.
Digital versions:
- RIO 16 I /Kes - 16 Input module
- RIO 16 O /KEs - 16 Output module
- RIO 8 I/O - 8 I/O configurable module
- RIO 8I 8I/O /KEs - 8 Input + 8 I/O configurable module.
Analogical versions:
- RIO 4AI ±10V - 4 analogue input module (+-10Vdc)
- RIO 4AI 20mA - 4 analogue input module (0-20mA)
- RIO 4AI/4AO ±10V - 4 input + 4 analogue output module (+-10Vdc)
- RIO 4AI/4AO 20mA - 4 input + 4 analogue output module (0-20mA)

SmartStix I/O is a terminal-block style I/O that connects to CsCAN, Profibus or Devicenet Networks.
DIN-rail Mounted, with Removable Terminal Strip - SmartStix I/O is extremely compact, providing 16 and 32 point digital I/O in a package only 39mm deep and a footprint of 50 x 110 mm or 50 x 177mm .
With its small footprint, SmartStix I/O takes up very little panel space whether located in the main control panel or tucked away in a remote location.
The terminal Strip is removable leaving the wiring intact for easy field servicing.
It can also be used to expand the I/O capacity of our range of Operator Intefaces and Operator Control Stations(OCS) and is very cost effective as remote digital and analogue I/O.
Because SmartStix I/O connects to any OCS CsCAN network port, it can be combined with our Modular SmartStack I/O to provide the best I/O selection for the application.
Designed to be very Cost Effective - Profibus and Devicenet Versions also comes complete with Connection Plugs. Often a forgotten and costly item.
Smartstix also connects to CsCAN versions of our powerfull Operator Interface - the TIU range. This allows you to control
the smartsix via the TIU's Script Language without the need for a PLC thus creating a even more cost effective system.

Typical Distributed I/O and Remote I/O Applications
Distributed I/O and Remote I/O eliminate expensive point-to-point wires by networking just a few, or thousands of, process signals onto one digital communication link.
For data acquisition, distributed I/O and remote I/O send signals from field-mounted sensors, transmitters, transducers, and alarms directly to DCS, PLC, and PC-based systems.
Send control signals long distances to remote valves, pumps, and motors with distributed I/O and remote I/O.
Unburden an overworked computer system by distributing signal conditioning and intelligence.
Use as expansion I/O to add points to a DCS or PLC system.
Convert weak sensor signals to immune digital signals to avoid damage during long-distance transmission through a noisy plant.
Distributed I/O and Remote I/O allow the transmission of signals any distance and over any terrain with twisted-pair wires, fiber optics, radio link, or modems.
