OverviewThe comX communication module is designed to be integrated into automation devices to provide drives, robot controllers, PLCs and similar devices with a network interface. Communication tasks are executed autonomously in the module, independently from the host processor. Process data is exchanged via a Dual-Port-Memory accessed by an 8/16-bit bus interface or via a fast 50 MHz SPI interface. The comX family supports leading Real-Time Ethernet protocols as Master or Slave; a line topology is supported by two Ethernet ports. The communication protocol can be changed by loading the appropriate firmware and (for masters) a software license. A 10-year delivery guarantee is granted due to the Hilscher netX network controller.
