Overview The module offers a cost-efficient, low-integration-risk solution that can be soldered to the host PCB by hand or in an SMD production process. It integrates a Real-Time Ethernet interface, an embedded web server and an extra transparent Ethernet channel to offload IT/IoT functions to the host processor while maintaining deterministic real-time communication.

Communication & IoT features netRAPID 51-RE supports Real-Time Ethernet protocols and provides an additional transparent Ethernet channel for customer IT applications. Applications can use the internal TCP/IP stack via a socket interface or access the Ethernet MAC directly via a raw Ethernet interface. Integrated IoT functionality includes an OPC UA server and an MQTT client.

Memory & components The module contains a netX multi-protocol chip, SQI Flash and additional SDRAM for extended communication and buffering tasks. Ethernet transformers, network connectors, LEDs and address switches are not present on the carrier and must be provided on the customer PCB. A licensed firmware is required to enable full netRAPID functionality and must be loaded during manufacturing.
