Product Overview
NIC 50-DPS is a compact DIL-32 communication IC designed as a PROFIBUS DP Slave to provide communication for simple slave devices without a host processor. The netIC is a single-chip module based on the Hilscher netX network controller and integrates all components of a fieldbus or real-time Ethernet interface including an integrated 2-port switch and hub. By loading different firmware, a single netIC can support multiple communication systems. Application payload is exchanged with the host via serial interfaces (UART, SPI) using simple read/write commands. The widely used Modbus RTU protocol is available as a serial protocol. Conventional shift registers can be connected as digital I/O via a synchronous serial interface so that simple I/O-only devices do not require a host processor.

The netX technology provides a 10-year delivery guarantee.
