Overview
The comX communication module integrates into automation devices to provide drives, robot controllers, PLCs and similar systems with a network interface. Communication tasks run independently on the module’s netX controller, minimizing load on the host processor. Process data is exchanged via a Dual-Port-Memory (parallel 8/16-bit bus) or a high-speed SPI interface (up to 50 MHz). The comX family supports market-leading real-time Ethernet and fieldbus protocols; protocol changes are possible by loading firmware and, for masters, applying a license. Hilscher provides a long-term delivery guarantee based on the netX controller.
