Overview The COMX 100CN-DN module provides a DeviceNet interface for integration into automation devices. Based on the Hilscher netX 100 controller, it executes network communication independently of the host CPU and supports firmware changes to select master or slave functionality and other compatible protocols.

Detailed description The module exchanges process data via a Dual-Port Memory accessible through an 8/16-bit parallel bus interface or a high-speed 50 MHz SPI interface. The netX 100 controller enables protocol changes by loading appropriate firmware; master operation may require a software license. The module is designed to be embedded in drives, robot controllers, PLCs and other host systems; network tasks run autonomously within the module regardless of the host processor.
