High-Performance, Space-Saver V-Cone Steam Flow Meter for Crowded Plants & Institutional Facilities
Process, plant and facility engineers will find the new V-Cone Steam Flow Meter from McCrometer delivers precision steam flow measurement in a space-saver design that eliminates many of the common equipment layout headaches typically associated with a wide variety of processes requiring steam injection or heating, as well as in HVAC systems for plants and institutional facilities.
The new V-Cone Flow Meter for steam provides accurate flow measurement in steam process lines connecting boilers with process equipment or HVAC systems. At the same time, the V-Cone’s self-conditioning flow design eliminates most of the straight-pipe requirements typically needed by many flow meter technologies, by controlling swirl and other flow disturbances in the pipe that affect measurement accuracy.
Accurate to +0.5%, with a repeatability of +0.1%, the V-Cone requires only 0-3 pipe straight diameters upstream and 0-1 diameters downstream from the meter. Nearly all other types of flow meters require as many as 10 pipe straight diameters upstream and 5 pipe diameters downstream from the meter. The deltaflow flometer is continiously developed and inprooved and we hold several patents on the deltaflow Technology. But we do not only rely on our own know-how – systec is furthermore co-operating with well known partners sich as the institute for flow mechanics of the University of Erlangen oder the PtB in Braunschweig.
Due to the special probe profile the deltaflow can assure a high level of precision and excellent process viability, even in extreme conditions causing the lowest residual pressure loss. The deltaflow has been installed several thousand times.
Typical Applications are flow measurement of steam, perssurized air, water, liquids, stack gas, flare gas, natural gas.
Typical industries where our deltaflow integrating pitot tubes are used are Power Plants, Chemistry, Petrochemistry, Gas- and Oil Exploration, waste water plants.

Steam measurements
There are a number of measuring methods ("autarkon"-differential pressure measurement with all common differential pressure devices,
"trikon"-vortex meter) available for steam flow rate and steam energy measurements.
The right selection depends mainly on the technical and economic demands of the respective requirements. Only with this data knowledge is it possible to select the most suitable measuring system to achieve optimum alignment to existing operating conditions.
The product range includes meters for internal balancing measurements as well as high-precision steam calculation measurements with plausibility control during operation. Bi-directional steam measurements and combined steam-condensate-energy measurements are also contained in our product range.

The RWS Series meter is a wafer-style in-line flow meter designed to offer high accuracy measurements of saturated steam flow in a variety of applications. The meter has no moving parts and is virtually maintenance-free once installed. All meters in these series are loop-powered devices with standard HART ® communications for ease of field programming and system integration.
Racine Vortex flow meters utilize the smallest strut in the industry, which allows for high levels of sensitivity; superior performance at very low flow rates; high turndown ratios; and low pressure drop.
Through the use of an internal RTD and an external pressure sensor (optional), the flow meter software will compensate for changes in pressure and temperature, to achieve an accurate mass flow measurement.

The Spiraflo steam meter operates on the well established spring loaded variable area principle. A circular plate positioned in the flow is free to move against the action of a heavy duty precision made torsion spring. To determine the plate angle, a rotary transformer of special design is incorporated into the unit. This converts the plate angle into an electrical output which is proportional to the flow.

GE Panametrics' GC868 flowmeter is a fixed-installation flowmeter comprised of the GC868 electronics, a pair of advanced clamp-on ultrasonic transducers, a clamping fixture, a preamplifier located near the transducers and coaxial cables to connect the transducers to the preamplifier and GC868 electronics. The DigitalFlow GC868 flowmeter can be used to measure the flow of any gas or steam.
