Overview
The ROTO series ROTOFORM S1 and S10 are fully automatic thermoforming systems arranged in an in-line two-unit configuration: a thermoforming machine and a separate horizontal cutting press.

Configuration and operation

• Thermoforming by vacuum and/or compressed air
• Two units operating separately in-line: thermoforming machine; horizontal cutting press
• Horizontal cutting press speed up to 3× the thermoforming unit

Materials and feed

• Processes PS, PVC, PET and, in some cases, PP
• Starting material: bobbin; system can be integrated with extrusion from granule for direct in-line production

Drive and control

• Electro-mechanical drive with servomotors
• Toggle-set mechanism on movable platens of the forming press
• PLC control for heating zones, servomotors and production cycle management

Performance and tooling

• Servo-driven toggle system enables high production speeds
• Cutting press runs 3× faster than forming unit, allowing blanking tools 1/3 the size and lower tooling costs

Applications

• Suitable for high-volume production of rigid packaging components, trays and similar thermoformed parts
