OverviewThe ASC 281 is a uniaxial analog gyroscope based on MEMS vibrating ring sensor elements. Its micromechanical silicon design provides high insensitivity to external shock and vibration, making the sensor suitable for harsh environments. With performance comparable to fiber optic gyroscopes, the ASC 281 meets requirements for tactical-grade applications. The device features a lightweight aluminum housing and a detachable cable (configurable length and connectors). Typical applications include gyro compassing, attitude and heading reference systems (AHRS) and orientation of underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
