The DAT 3140 device s specially designed to acquire up to 4 digital inputs and to drive up to 8 transistor outputs. The MODBUS RTU protocol transmits the data values on the RS-485 network. Two Watch-Dog timer alarms are included for safe operation and plant safety. During alarms, the outputs are forced automatically on the safe. The galvanic isolation between inputs, outputs, power supply and RS-485 serial line ensures to cancel any ground-loop effect noise allowing operation of the device suitable in worst ambient conditions. DAT 3140 is designed in compliance to the Directive 2004/108/EC on the electromagnetic compatibility. The system is housed in a rough self-extinguishing 17.5 mm thick plastic enclosure, suitable for EN 50022 standard DIN rail.
