DescriptionThe type PRMW is a single-stage volute casing pump in process design with magnetic coupling according to API 685 for thermal oil applications.
Coupling and sealingThe pump features a permanent magnet coupling; the containment shell hermetically seals the pumped fluid from the outside. There is no internal circulation. The sliding bearing and a throttle section prevent exchange of contaminated product with the clean medium in the magnet cavity. For higher eddy current losses, an additional cooling circuit is required. The pump is not self-venting and must be vented with an open suction slide via a venting device.
Design and bearingsThe bearing housing with cast ribs is designed as a cooling element, so temperatures in the gap-pot area remain significantly below the flow temperature in the volute casing. The volute has sturdy cast-on supports for a center-axle suspension and a welded and flanged drain and vent. The pump shaft is supported in SiC plain bearings; the drive shaft is mounted in oil-lubricated roller bearings.
