Overview
Format4 tempora F600 with glueBox: PUR-edge banding without glue pot. Revolutionarily simple, clean and economically highly profitable. Edgebanding needs to be as quick, easy and efficient as possible. The Format4 tempora models combine speed, productivity, flexibility and ease of use. The final finishing results when processing both coiled and strip material convince with incredibly high standards.

Design & Operation
Modern and optimised edge processing aggregates and a flexible machine body guarantee absolute stability and reliability even at the highest processing speeds. User friendly control options (x-motion PLUS and m-motion) ensure repeatability. The intuitive smartouch control panel (10" or 16" touchscreen) provides configurable operating programs and quick manual change of aggregates.

glueBox (PUR adhesive tape)
The revolutionary glueBox makes PUR glue processing easier and more convenient. Instead of PUR adhesive in a glue pot, a thin PUR adhesive strip in the glueBox is fused almost invisibly between edge material and workpiece. Heat and water resistance, a very small glue joint and reduced glue consumption are advantages of PUR with glueBox. Considering investment, adhesive consumption and cleaning costs, glueBox can save approx. 70% in effective field of application compared to conventional PUR granulate processing.

Control & Automation
smartouch control unit (10.4" or 15" / 10" or 16" options referenced) with m-motion or x-motion PLUS reduces manual settings. Functions include unlimited memory for user-defined edge programs, maintenance plan, odometer for total metres used, representation of units and functions, aggregate selection with fine adjustment (up to 1/100 mm), glue temperature setting and automatic temperature reduction in standby.

Notable aggregates & options
  • Edge jointing / premilling units: Two counter-rotating, activation-controlled and individually adjustable premilling units with diamond coated spiral cutters for tear free edges and first class edge processing. Depth of cut electronically positionable on e-motion models.
  • Air-motion / advantEdge: Patented air-motion aggregate for optical zero-joint (especially for co-extruded and laser edges). Controlled by the workpiece and activatable from control unit. Provides homogenised finish, especially on high gloss materials.
  • edgeControl (Bluetooth measurement): Wireless measuring unit records edge and workpiece thickness to hundredths of a millimetre and transfers values to smartouch; controller recognises and sorts values, enabling automatic calibration and elimination of manual measuring errors.
  • Gluepot (EVA/PUR): Teflon-coated gluepot capacity ~1.5 kg (~375 metres of edge material on a 19 mm panel). Short warm-up time (~10 minutes). Optional scraper cleaning unit for fast cleaning when changing glue types.
  • Infrared lamp: Operation-controlled quartz infrared lamp warms edge surface before glue unit to improve adhesion on cold workpieces.
  • Pressure zone / roller press: Motor-driven roller presses the edge material onto the workpiece; application control prevents smearing or movement. Two conical pressure rollers close the glue joint above and below; two pneumatic pressure settings selectable for strip vs coiled material.
  • Corner rounding unit: Single or dual motor corner rounding unit (workpiece height up to 60 mm). Finishes workpiece corners including soft/forming materials; processes edging 0.016"–⅛" (0.4–3.0 mm) and heights to 60 mm.
  • Multifunctional trimming unit: Top and bottom trimming for flush, radius or bevel edges with two independent high-frequency motors (12,000 rpm); quick setup and optional motorised adjustment via control panel.
  • Sawing module / end trimming: Two independent saw units (12,000 rpm) with linear guides; tilting 0°–10° (manual or pneumatic/electronic options).
  • Air cushion table (option): For easy and gentle handling of large and surface-sensitive workpieces. Placed on the machine infeed with 0.75 kW blower motor; supporting surface 1050 x 400 mm (expandable to 2000 x 400 mm).

Edge feed & material compatibility
Depending on application, coiled and strip material from 0.4 up to 6 mm can be processed. Workpiece thickness capability up to 60 mm. Complete edge processing including premilling, gluing (glueBox or gluepot), pressure, trimming, corner rounding and finishing aggregates.
