Description

Overview
  • The 4-axle tank wagon Zags is designed for the transport of liquefied chlorine and/or sulfur dioxide; tank code P22DH with a test pressure of 22 bar and an effective volume of min. 53.0 m³.
  • No openings below the liquid surface; horizontal tank central slope; designed for operation in temperatures from -40 °C to +50 °C.


Compliance and standards
  • Designed and manufactured in accordance with RID and TSI regulations and corresponding EN / UIC standards.
  • Meets Swiss requirements “Gemeinsame Erklärung II (GE II)“, 2016, and is marked TEN GE for traffic operation.
  • Underframe and tank head reinforcement comply with RID TE25 (items b) and d)).


Operation and loading
  • Loading and unloading through DN40 valves mounted on the DN500 manway cover located on the tank roof; top valves are pneumatically controlled.
  • Working platform around the valves provides safe access for loading/unloading operations; two side platforms are fitted.
  • Derailment detector devices (EDT101) and a weighing valve are installed for the complete wagon.


Safety and running gear
  • Wagon fitted with reinforced draw gear components and crash buffers with anti-climbing system.
  • Brake regime: “S”; Brake type: KE-GP-A (K) 2xCFCB (KEf distributor).
  • Bogie options: Y25Lsif-C-V / Y25Lsi-C or Y25Lsdif-KC1V / Y25Lsdi-KC1.
