Description

Product application
The GDX312 is a non‑metallic armored loose‑tube fiber optic cable designed for backbone and distribution runs where high fiber counts, mechanical resilience and low electromagnetic interference are required. The cable places color‑coded fibers in gel‑filled loose tubes, applies glass fiber armoring and a PE outer sheath, and uses an FRP central strength member to avoid metallic components.

Product features
The construction provides mechanical protection and install flexibility for indoor/outdoor transition routing. The PE outer sheath offers UV and abrasion resistance, and a blue identification stripe facilitates identification.

Product performance
  • Allowable tensile force: Long‑term 600 N / 1000 N; Short‑term 1500 N / 3000 N
  • Allowable crush force: Long‑term 300 N / 100 mm; Short‑term 1000 N / 100 mm
  • Bending radius: Dynamic 20×D; Static 10×D (D = cable diameter)
  • Ambient temperature: Storage/transport/use −40 °C to +70 °C; Installation −15 °C to +50 °C

Key design notes
  • Stranded loose‑tube geometry with central FRP member for mechanical balance, compressive resistance and flexibility.
  • Gel‑filled, color‑coded loose tubes protect fibers from moisture and vibration and simplify identification for splicing and terminations.
  • PE outer sheath provides UV and abrasion resistance for indoor/outdoor transitions (not a plenum‑rated sheath).
  • Non‑metallic construction (FRP strength member) eliminates grounding requirements and reduces EMI concerns.
  • High core count (up to 144 fibers) supports dense backbone and distribution applications.

Use scenarios
  • Structured cabling backbones in enterprise, campus and institutional buildings requiring high fiber density.
  • Indoor runs in trays, ceilings, equipment rooms and ducts with frequent routing or long continuous runs.
  • Data center interconnects and LAN backbones in non‑plenum zones, retrofit installations where non‑metallic cables are preferred.

FAQ
  • Can the GDX312 be used in riser or plenum spaces? — The PE outer sheath is suitable for general indoor use but GDX312 is not fire‑rated for riser or plenum installations; use in standard interior environments (offices, trays, utility rooms) is recommended.
  • Is this cable compatible with common fusion splicing methods? — Yes. Color‑coded fibers and loose‑tube design allow straightforward stripping and fusion splicing with standard sleeves and trays.
  • What length options are available for custom orders? — Custom lengths are supported to match layout needs, reducing waste and installation time.
  • Does the cable require grounding during installation? — No. The FRP central strength member is non‑metallic, so grounding or bonding is not required.
  • Can the GDX312 be pre‑terminated before delivery? — Pre‑termination options are available on request to reduce on‑site labor.
