Description

Overview
QLC sliding-jaw power chucks are universal workholding devices designed for turning operations. They replace standard collets or conventional wedge-style chucks to provide a wider gripping range, improved clamping force and compatibility with higher spindle speeds via centrifugal compensation.

Why invest in a QLC?
  • Increased clamping force and improved repeatability compared with standard wedge-style chucks, suitable for heavy cutting and high-volume production.
  • Centrifugal-force compensation enables higher RPM operation while maintaining clamping accuracy.
  • Modular jaw options compatible with industry-standard top tooling for cost-effective replacements.
  • Reduced rotating mass and optional quick-change jaw systems shorten setup and changeover times.
  • Adaptable base jaws allow configuration for special applications (ID/OD or variable-diameter stock).

QLC styles available
  • QLC — 3-Jaw, Wedge Style Power Chuck
Universal sliding-jaw chuck with large through-hole. Sizes: 110–140 mm.
  • QLC-KT — 3-Jaw, Heavy Duty
Solid center configuration for heavy cutting. Sizes: 160–400 mm.
  • QLC-KS — 3-Jaw, Large Bore
Increased through-hole for larger diameter workpieces. Sizes: 200–400 mm.
  • QLC-AG — 3-Jaw, Compensating
Compensating model for off-center parts with high precision. Sizes: 200–315 mm.
  • QLC-LM — 3-Jaw, Low Maintenance
Maintenance-reduced design following QLC principles. Sizes: 200–500 mm.
  • QLC-LS — 2-Jaw, Long Stroke
Extended stroke for large diameter variation (up to ~95% more stroke). Sizes: 160–315 mm.
  • QLC MIR — Power Chuck with Quick Change Jaw System
Quick-change solution for ID and OD gripping. Sizes: 200–500 mm.
  • QLC SWB — Power Chuck with Jaw Quick Change System
Optimized for recurring small batches; patented SWB quick-change jaw system with locking key.

Reasons To Buy QLC Chucks
Advantages
  • Base jaw design reduces wear compared with traditional sliding-jaw concepts.
  • Precision-ground jaw guides limit lubricant loss and improve consistency between setups.
  • Multiple jaw guide profiles deliver controlled and uniform clamping forces.
  • Backlash-free wedge-hook design provides high clamping forces and repeatability.
  • Centrifugal compensation allows safe operation at higher spindle speeds.
  • Hardened, ground and finished sliding surfaces increase service life.
  • Base jaw formats conform to common European and US specifications for interchangeability.
  • Optional quick-change jaw systems (MIR / SWB) reduce downtime for jaw changes.

Technical Features
