Product OverviewThe BLN 2-Jaw is a high-precision universal 2-jaw wedge-hook power chuck designed for machining irregular-shaped components and ball-shaped parts that require full-envelope gripping. It accepts workpiece-specific top jaws and can grip over projections when machining fittings or similar parts. The chuck provides a long jaw stroke necessary for enveloping spherical parts. Jaw slides and all moving internal components are made from hardened high-alloy steel for extended service life. Base jaws are fine-serrated to allow simple adjustment or changeover of top jaws and include lubrication ports. The chuck body is recessed to reduce weight. Two-jaw versions without rapid traverse are available for internal and external chucking.
Advantages- No thru-hole prevents swarf ingress into the chuck.
- Recessed chuck body reduces overall weight.
- Hardened high-alloy steel jaw slides and internal components ensure long service life.
- Fine-serrated base jaws allow quick adjustment or changeover of top jaws.
- Long jaw stroke enables gripping over projections and full-envelope holding of spherical parts.
Technical Features- Primarily designed for machining irregular-shaped components using workpiece-specific top jaws; long jaw stroke allows gripping over projections and full enveloping of ball-shaped parts.
- Jaw slides and all moving internal parts are manufactured from hardened high-alloy steel for extended durability; top jaws mount on serrations for easy adjustment or change; base jaws include lubrication ports and the chuck body is recessed to reduce weight.
Applications- Machining irregular-shaped components such as valves and fittings, and ball-shaped parts requiring full-envelope gripping.
