Product IntroductionThe Luer Taper Conical Fittings Multipurpose Tester Luer-C2 is designed for laboratory and production-line qualification of locking and non-locking Luer connectors used in syringes, needles, catheters and related medical devices. It performs gauging, liquid and air leakage, separation force, unscrewing torque, assembly ease, override resistance and stress-cracking tests according to applicable standards.
Product Features- 7-inch color touchscreen with graphical user interface (GUI) for test setup and results review.
- Built-in standard test routines and selectable fixtures for a wide range of Luer variants.
- Automatic pass/fail evaluation and real-time display of axial force, torque, hold time, internal water pressure and separation force during assembly tests.
- Slip-ring coupling between torque sensor and rotating element to ensure accurate torque measurement.
- High-precision force and torque sensors with overload protection for repeatable measurements.
- High-precision motion control for smooth and reproducible engagement and rotation.
- Automatic result storage with non-volatile memory; standard USB interface for data export.
- Integrated micro-printer for automatic hardcopy test reports.
- Multi-level user permissions and audit features aligned with GMP requirements.
- ISP online control and firmware upgrade capability for remote modification and extension of test functions.
- Multiple safety protections including emergency stop and overload detection.
Test StandardsComplies with relevant national and international standards: ISO 80369-3, ISO 80369-6, ISO 80369-7, ISO 80369-20, GB/T 1962.1, GB/T 1962.2, YY/T 0916.6, YY/T 0916.7, YY/T 0916.20.
Test Items (Parameter — Description)- Liquid leakage — Under standard test conditions, no leakage forming falling droplets is permitted.
- Gas leakage — Under standard test conditions, no bubble formation is allowed.
- Separation force — Under standard test conditions, the test connector and the standard connector must not separate.
- Unscrewing torque — Under standard test conditions, connectors must not loosen or separate under the specified torque.
- Ease of assembly — Rigid connectors: no appreciable resistance before full seating. Semi-rigid connectors: secure connection achievable with axial force ≤20 N and torque ≤0.08 N·m.
- Overload resistance — Standard connector must not cross-thread or damage threads/lugs of the test connector under test conditions.
- Stress cracking — Connector must not exhibit stress cracking under test conditions.
- Resistance to stripping — When applying ≥0.15 N·m for 5 s, connector threads must not strip.
- Pressure decay leakage — Connect per standard, apply specified pressure and measure pressure change to determine leakage rate.
- Negative pressure air leakage — Connect per standard, apply vacuum pressure and measure negative pressure change to determine leakage rate.
Test Applications- IV sets, blood transfusion sets, IV needles
- Catheters, anesthesia filters
- Locked Luer connectors and non-locked Luer connectors
Configurations- Standard: instrument, micro-printer, standard fittings, gas and liquid storage tanks
