Overview
High-quality media preparation for biological culture with automated sterilization, precise monitoring and programmable procedures. MEDIAPREP ensures uniform media quality and reduces manual labor and repetitive tasks. The instrument sterilizes, monitors and controls time, temperature and pressure during sterilization and offers an intuitive graphical interface for easy programming and operation.

Operating modes

• Standard mode: Prepare standard or highly sensitive media; sterilization temperature/time and dispensing time are programmable.
• Chocolate Agar mode: Special two-step procedure for complex media; allows nutrient addition (e.g., blood) via feeding port after initial sterilization, followed by further heating steps.
• Water bath mode: Pre-dissolve medium at 30–80 °C before sterilization; glassware can be heated in a water bath placed in the sterilizer.
• Sterilization mode: Use as a small table sterilizer for tubes, flasks and other glassware.

Functionality and process
Strong magnetic stirring ensures homogeneous mixing inside the inner chamber and prevents condensation. The system can pre-dissolve medium, perform sterilization with accurate control, then dispense at a defined dispensing temperature. Fast and efficient heating and cooling reduce thermal stress and preserve nutrient integrity. Automatic system checks (e.g., lid seal) run prior to sterilization to prevent leakage and ensure safe operation.

Safety and data recording
Equipped with multiple independent temperature/pressure detectors and an independent over-voltage safety protection device. The unit locks the lid under defined high-temperature and/or high-pressure conditions to prevent accidental opening. Over-temperature alarm and automatic power cut-off protect against unsafe conditions. The system supports sterilization data logging (parameters and status) for record-keeping.
