The capacitive principle for continuous level measurement is one of the most widely used for industrial applications. Thanks to its flexibility it can be applied to measurements of liquids, solids, granules and powders. The operation is based on the detection of the capacity of the insulation interposed between the electrode and the material to be measured.
The instrument can be compact (electrode and insert) in a single unit or separate with a remote insert for applications where there are high process temperatures, high vibration levels or where it is impractical to use a compact version. The electrode type chosen defines the unit model (CLT4, CLT5, CLT7, CLT8).
