Overview
The V77 vertical machining center has been specifically designed to minimize thermal distortion for part precision and enhance higher quality finishes on die/mold output.

Thermal and Accuracy Features
The V77 provides environmentally controlled machine accuracy enhancements, such as Makino’s core-cooled, under-race lubrication system, which minimizes spindle distortion, and twin shield-style splash guards to reduce the effect of temperature change in the factory.

Applications
The V77 (50 Taper) machine is best suited for machining large and medium-sized die / mold and precision parts which require micron-level accuracy and outstanding surface finishes. The V77 can rough and finish hardened steel cavities/cores more efficiently and at lower cost than general-purpose machines.

Spindle & Tooling
The machine is equipped with a CAT50-taper, 12,000 rpm spindle, and can be configured with an optional HSK-A100 interface or an optional HSK-A100, 18,000 rpm spindle. The standard 30-tool magazine can be optionally expanded to 40- or 60-tool configurations.

Control & Software
Outfitted with the Makino Professional 6 control, providing a stable, secure platform with an operator-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). The control offers large color touch-sensitive, on-screen, menu-driven applications with common PC-style functions (cut, paste, copy, find, replace, etc.) rarely available on machine tool controls.

Performance Technologies
Advanced data management technology and Makino’s proprietary, next-generation Super Geometric Intelligence (SGI.5) servo control reduce machining cycle times on dies, complex cavities and cores by as much as 40 percent compared to many other control technologies.
