Overview
The EDGE3i sinker electrical discharge machine (EDM) delivers open, unobstructed access to the work zone via a four-sided programmable rise-and-fall work tank and a stationary work table for consistent, repeatable precision in sinker EDM operations.

Design & Footprint
Compact footprint achieved by integrating the dielectric reservoir into the base casting, eliminating external holding tanks. Standard dielectric chiller is included. The ATC (Automatic Tool Change) system is housed internally beneath the X/Y structure to streamline processes and enable extended unattended operation.

Operator Interface & Control
Equipped with Makino Hyper-i control: a 24" wide HD touchscreen with intuitive, smartphone-like operation. Integrated aids include the interactive E-Tech Doctor for burn-condition tuning, on-control instructional videos, and a handheld advanced Handbox with LED display and Emergency Stop for safe, precise manual operation.

Process & Performance Technologies
The EDGEi-Series integrates advanced technologies for improved surface and edge quality: SuperSurface and SuperEdge generator modes for uniform finishes and metallurgical integrity; Makino IES (Intelligent Expert System) and SuperSpark4 adaptive power and jump control to stabilize discharge, reduce electrode wear, and optimize cycle time and accuracy.
