OverviewThe MANN+HUMMEL ENTARON XD and ENTARON MD series are plastic-housed air cleaners engineered for demanding industrial and mobile applications. ENTARON XD is a two-stage unit with a tangential raw-air inlet; ENTARON MD is a single-stage unit optimized for low initial pressure drop.
Key product narrativeDesigned for heavy-duty and variable-duty environments, the ENTARON family extends proven separation performance with a modular plastic design that reduces weight and simplifies service while maintaining high separation efficiencies.
Product benefits- High engine protection through elevated initial and final separation efficiencies
- Improved reliability via filter elements with an advanced sealing system
- Approx. 10% weight reduction versus conventional metal or hybrid solutions
- Modular design for flexible configuration and adaptation to different installations
- Tool-less element replacement using color-coded comfort fasteners for fast service
Powerful detailsRobust housingHousings are manufactured from glass-fiber-reinforced plastic with reinforcement ribs. The three-part design is welded to the tangential raw air inlet to secure orientation and integrated brackets. The clean-air outlet includes a metal reinforcement ring permitting hose-clamp torque up to 5 N·m. High pre-separation efficiency of ENTARON XD makes it suitable for heavy dust loads and often removes the need for an external pre-separator.
Smart detailsComfort fasteners feature color-coded operating elements and snap-in noses that lock during cover removal or fitting. The housing integrates a connection for a service switch/indicator and supports mounting with through-holes (standard) or threaded inserts (on request).
High-performance filter elements- New sealing system for reliable element-to-housing sealing
- Robust plastic center tubes to reinforce elements (not for ENTARON XD/MD 40)
- More robust filter media for extended service life
- Glue-string pleat fixation for stability under varying conditions
- Safety element threaded to housing to prevent unintentional removal during service
- Additional main and secondary element variants available as options
Technical features- Type of operation: ENTARON XD — two-stage; ENTARON MD — single-stage; ENTARON MD 40 with DualSpin XT — combination with external pre-separator
- Field of application: XD — mobile equipment with very high dust load (construction machines, harvesters, mobile cranes, compressors); MD — stationary machines, gensets, low dust-load applications; DualSpin versions — extreme dust load applications
- Volume flow range: ENTARON XD 7–40 m³/min; ENTARON MD 20–40 m³/min
- Pre-separation efficiency: up to 92% (with scavenging) for XD; ~87% (with dust discharge valve)
- Final separation efficiency: up to >99.99% depending on version
- Installation: vertical and horizontal possible depending on dust discharge valve position
- Service concept: front access with comfort fasteners; tool-less element change
- Water ingress protection: ENTARON XD 14–28 on request, XD 40 as standard
