Overview Tablet Capsule Metal Detection Machine ensure top-quality control in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical production. Designed for precision and reliability, this machine uses a balanced electromagnetic coil system to detect even the smallest ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contaminants in tablets, capsules, and softgel products. Its highly sensitive mechanism ensures compliance with strict international safety standards such as FDA and HACCP. Ideal for pharmaceutical manufacturers, supplement producers, and health product packaging lines, it helps minimize product recalls, protect brand reputation, and ensure consumer safety. With user-friendly controls, easy integration into existing production lines, and robust construction, it offers both efficiency and durability.

How it works The detector uses a balanced electromagnetic (transmitter-receiver coil) system to create a focused magnetic field across the product passage. When a metallic contaminant (ferrous, non-ferrous or stainless steel) passes through the aperture, it disturbs the magnetic field producing a detectable signal. The system's signal processing discriminates real metal signals from background noise and the product's own effect, triggering automatic rejection when a contaminant is detected.
What affects detection accuracy - Machine configuration
- Aperture size and geometry — smaller aperture increases sensitivity for small items but must match product size
- Search coil quality and design — precise coil winding and quality materials improve stability and signal strength
- Signal processing software — modern algorithms, multi-frequency or phase-shift technologies and product signal suppression (automatic learn) are important to distinguish product effect from true contaminants
- External environmental factors
- Vibration from nearby equipment can cause false signals
- Ambient electromagnetic interference (EMI) from drives, motors or other sources can reduce stability; shielding helps mitigate this
- Temperature fluctuations and draughts can cause component drift affecting sensitivity
- Product characteristics
- Product effect (moist, salty or conductive products) can mask small metal signals; advanced multi-frequency detectors help overcome this
