PrincipleAn impedance analyzer measures the complex electrical impedance of a device as a function of frequency by recording simultaneous voltage and current with phase-sensitive detection during a frequency sweep. Measured quantities include impedance magnitude, real and imaginary parts and phase; equivalent-circuit parameters such as conductance, inductance and capacitance are derived from these measurements.
