Product Description
Single turn overlap wave springs (overlap wave spring washers) are single-turn wave springs with partially overlapping ends. They are manufactured from flat wire and undergo heat treatments and surface treatments to provide good elasticity and toughness. They are designed for short deflection and low to medium forces and enable dependable and accurate fits while saving axial space and reducing overall device size.

Overview
The single turn overlap wave spring is a precision elastic gasket composed of multiple peaks and troughs. Design dimensions and processing requirements can be determined using computer-aided design tools. Because there is no single unified standard for this product in some markets, production and design can be adapted to customer requirements.

Maintenance
Regular visual inspection is recommended to check for wear, damage, or misalignment. Replace springs if damage or excessive wear is found. Ensure proper installation, avoid excessive loads and misalignment, and keep springs clean and free of dirt, dust and debris.

Application
Used where axial space is limited and small-to-moderate loads and deflections are required. Typical uses include applications requiring small spring stiffness, axial preload, or where reducing component size and weight is important. Single turn overlap wave springs can reduce component size and weight by up to 40%–50% in some applications.

Processing technology and quality
Manufactured using modern precision spring equipment and automatic punching machines. Production includes full online inspection and high-precision testing (CNC spring testing machines, precision projectors, microscopes). Surface treatments include bluing, phosphating, electroplating and electrophoresis to meet different working environments.

Materials
  • Common materials: 17-7PH stainless steel, SUS301, 60Si2MnA, 50CrVA and various stainless steels.
  • Large wave springs: processed by hot work (high-temperature forming, quenching and tempering).
  • Small springs: processed by cold forming, annealing, hardening and tempering; piano wire (high carbon steel) and stainless steel wire used depending on requirements.
