DEA 230 Epsilon
There are three different systems in the 230 Epsilon series of Dielectric Cure Monitors: the high-performance, 2-channel DEA 230/2 with the broadest measurement and frequency range, particularly for product development and process optimization, the single-channel DEA 230/1, and the 10-channel DEA 230/10, also suitable for applications in manufacturing.
For the investigation of the curing behavior of thermosetting resin systems, composite materials, adhesives and paints, dielectric analysis (DEA) has stood the test of time because it can be employed not only on a laboratory scale, but also in process. Versatile sensors for almost every application are available for measurement of the ion viscosity.
The different models of the DEA 230 Epsilon can be connected to the dynamic mechanical analyzer DMA 242 C for simultaneous DMA-DEA analyses. The combination of these complimentary methods provides additional information for complete characterization of the crosslinking behavior of the reactive polymers.

The DynaPro NanoStar from Wyatt Technology is a brand new, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) instrument that is used for the analysis of protein solutions, promiscuous inhibitors, buffers or other products in solution. The NanoStar is empowered with more than twice the signal-to-noise of its predecessor, and has replaced virtually every major component in order to make it a full-fledged member of Wyatt's family of instruments.
Since its inception in the early 1990's, the Protein Solutions DynaPro DLS instrument began appearing in protein crystallization and characterization labs throughout the world - the first DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering) technology meeting the scientific community's need to measure small volumes of proteins under very dilute solution conditions. The DynaPro quickly earned acceptance on a global basis, and has since become an indispensable tool for biomolecular sizing and characterization.
The new instrument has a TCP/IP interface, so it can be put on a laboratory network instantly and operated from anywhere with an Internet connection. The NanoStar comes with a double density correlator installed. The DD correlator has 512 bins from 100nsec to 1 hour. Instead of having 16 bins in the first stage and 8 in each subsequent stage, it has 32 in the first stage and 16 in the higher stages.
In order to insure that the NanoStar never goes out of range, it comes equipped with automatic attentution over five orders of magnitude. Its air-launched laser, coupled with proprietary optics for higher sensitivity, make single mode optical fiber technology obsolete. Refinements have been made to the temperature control systems for improved response time; and the ability to couple with Wyatt's on-line multi-angle light scattering systems for enhanced resolution are also standard parts of the package.
Finally, a dedicated Static Light Scattering detector has been added to the NanoStar so that it can measure not only hydrodynamic radii, but absolute molecular weights as well.

HFM 436 Lambda - Heat flow meter
With the HFM 436 Lambda, samples measuring 30 cm x 30 cm or 60 cm x 60 cm and of variable thicknesses ranging from a few millimeters to 10 (20) cm are tested between two heat flux sensors in fixed or adjustable temperature gradients. After a few minutes for the system to reach equilibrium, the built-in PC or external computer determines the thermal conductivity and thermal resistance of the sample.
Automatic plate movement and determination of the sample thickness simplify test preparation.
All test parameters as well as the calibration data are stored in the PC and documented.
Determination of thermal conductivity with the HFM 436 Lambda meets the industry standards ASTM C 518, ISO 8301, JIS A 1412, DIN EN 12939, DIN EN 13163 and DIN EN 12667.

The Techne Sample Concentrator accelerates the concentration of large numbers of samples in a matter of minutes where traditional methods can take hours. It is ideal for the life science researcher and scientist; designed for applications such as sample preparation for analytical techniques including drug screening, hormone assays, chromatographic analysis and scintillation counting.
Evaporation is increased by passing an inert gas over the surface of the sample. The gas travels through the unique patented gas chamber to the samples via the needles. The needles are set into a silicone matrix and can be spaced to fit any combination of tubes.
The unit is light and compact enough for convenient use in a fume cupboard when toxic solvents are being evaporated.
Needles The needles are made from high quality stainless steel and are specially designed for use with the Techne Sample Concentrator. The needle configuration can easily be adjusted to fit any combination of tubes, from 26mm test tubes to 0.5ml microcentrifuge tubes. Where corrosive
solutions are being used, Teflon coated needles are available.
The Sample Concentrator's gas reservoir is mounted on a fully adjustable stand for accurate height control.

VLM Sample Concentrators are a time saving alternative to rotary evaporators, if there are many samples to be processed. For this purpose nitrogen is distributed by the gas dosing unit and introduced into the test tubes, flasks, chrom. vials, micro centrifuge tubes, or wells of microtiterplates The flow of nitrogen can be individually adjusted. The evaporation cold is compensated by the metalblock thermostats thus there is a constant temperature. Complete systems for 16,24,48, 96 (micortiterplates) are available with a convenient lift or - for small budgets - with a stand.
If samples have to be concentrated to a rest volume we recommend the EVA VIS model, which allows to watch the first row of samples placed into heating block with vertical slits. The evaporators shall be placed run in a hood but there is also a cabinet available you will find among accessories. For more information please visit our VLM Laborshop (www.vlm-laborshop.de) or give us a call 49 5205 87 963-0

The fast photon counting circuitry provides a dynamic range in excess of six orders of magnitude, which complements the concentration range of the latest assays.
A patented design of the optical system achieves absolute minimization of cross-talk (down to 10-6 depending on the type of microplate).
Solid 96 well plates, as well 8 well and 12 well strip plates can be measured.
Inside the instrument precise x and y drivers ensure exact positioning of the wells with respect to the detector.

The wavelengths are characterized as follows:
Blue : 450nm Fine & ultra fine particulates (wood fires, automobiles)
Green : 525nm Visibility (smog, fog and haze)
Red : 635nm Large particulates (pollen, sea salt etc)
Applications
- Visibility Measurements (Airports, City pollution, AAQMS)
