SPIR'ATOR® Prestressed Spiral Springs
The SPIR'ATOR prestressed spiral spring is produced by reverse winding a NEG'ATOR on an arbor and enclosing it in a case. Rotational energy can be obtained from either the arbor or case or, when linear motion is required, through use of a pulley and cable attachement.
The unique design of this encapsulated spring yields a compact power source which operates with higher working stress and can provide more than twice as many revolutions as a conventional power spring in the same size case. With torque and deflection being equal, a SPIR'ATOR generally requires 20% less space than a power spring. Most importantly, this power package creates a low torque gradient.

Centrally winding, power springs offer high torque possibilities within confined spaces.
With springs ranges from 2mm in width and .05mm in thickness, Spiroflex represents the leading force in retraction systems, from inertia seatbelts and domestic vacuum cleaner cord retractors to dog leads and tape measures.
Almost all applications are bespoke; products are designed and developed in conjunction with our customers to suit the specific requirements of their application. |

Wavo® Springs (RW Series)
Wavo Springs are a compact round wire wave springs designed to fit in tight radial and axial spaces. As an ideal alternative to belleville springs, Wavo Springs provide high and accurate force, while maintaining dimensional stability and precise load / deflection characteristics.
Wavo Springs are stocked in carbon and stainless steel with diameters from ½" to 6". Special designs are available with diameters up to 84". |

A coiled length of spring strip which can be used to provide a tensional rotational moment, as in motive power for traditional manually wound clocks and watches.
So named because of their function as energy storers in clocks where a torsional effect is required through a large number of revolutions, Emmotts manufacture all variations of this product : open spriral and close coiled. Applications include cable reel retraction and torsional counterbalancing; while conventional clock springs are used in a veriety of scientific instruments. |

BUWW Spiral Springs are used for protection against swarf, dust and liquids. Spiral Springs are more compact than way covers and more durable than bellows.

- Crest-to-Crest® Wave Springs
Crest-to-Crest Wave Springs can replace conventional round wire springs while occupying only half the space. Crest-to-Crest Springs offer the same force and deflection as standard coil springs.
Crest-to-Crest springs are stocked in a wide variety of loads and deflections; standard parts are available from 3/8” to 16”. Special designs can be from .200” to 90”; specials are affordable because of Smalley’s No-Tooling-Cost™ process. |
|
| Smalley's Metric Crest-to Crest series are available in dimensions from 6 to 60 mm.Crest-to-Crest springs enable original equipment manufacturers to reduce the size of their assembly by up to 50% while maintaining the same amount of force and deflection as a regular coiled spring. Crest-to-Crest wave springs minimize assembly cost and total assembly size due to the reduced spring cavity required. Available in carbon and stainless steel from stock. |
|
| Crest-to-Crest Wave Springs offer the unique advantage of assembly space savings when used to replace coil springs. They can maintain the same force and load specifications of a conventional round wire spring, yet occupy 50% or less of the axial space, resulting in lowered operating heights, free heights, and solid heights. |
