Description:
These valves have a maximum operating temperature of 302° F (150° C). Sizes ¼″ - 2″ are pressure rated at 600 psi non-shock and 150 WSP saturated steam. Sizes 2½″ - 4″ are pressure rated at 400 psi non-shock and 150 WSP saturated steam. They meet requirements for a full range of liquids, have plated carbon steel handle with blue vinyl insulator, large, full-size ports, full-port design, NPTF threads, quick 1/4-turn handle and a low operating torque. Two Proportional Flow Control Rates with One Valve: Hayward ProFile2 corrosion resistant, proportional control ball valves provide two linear flow curves; one for fast opening and one for slow opening. The percentage of flow through the valves with either flow curve is equal to the degree of opening. As the valves are opened or closed, the flow varies in direct proportion to the valve opening. This permits predictable, accurate control of the downstream flow rate with a 1/4 turn valve.
Unique Design "Characterized" Ball: These valves utilize a unique, patented ball with a special "characterized" opening that results in the linear flow rate change. Valves are shipped with the ball installed so that the smaller opening enters the flow first, creating the slow open rate. To switch to the fast opening rate, simply reverse the ball in the valve. With the larger opening first, the flow starts fast with slower, more controlled changes as the ball is turned to "full open".
Perfect With Positioners: Hayward ProFile2 Proportional Control True Union Ball Valves can be supplied with optional electric or pneumatic actuators with positioners for automated modulating service applications.

The ball segment valves are basically used as a control valve combined with tight shut-off. The characteristic is between linear and equal percentage (logarithmic). The ISIS ball valve, with full bore, is a product particulary suitable for ensuring a high working reliability at medium pressure in water installations. The AF series, Anti Static Fire Safe valves are designed and tested to the requirements of API 607 4th Edition and to BS 6755 Part 2 specifications. The valves contain soft seat rings. In the event of fire, a secondary metallic machined fire lip on the end connector comes in contact with the ball and prevents leakage through the valve port. The anti static fire safe stem incorporates a machined fire lip, which will prevent leakage once the thrust seal is burned off.
