Used for air, gas and oil proportioning control, the MICRO-RATIO® Oil and Gas Valve assemblies have a multiple screw cam assembly. This oil flow valve's assembly provides mechanical adjustment capabilities to the air/fuel ratio at each valve position throughout the entire capacity range of your burner system. This gas valve provides a fully adjustable throttling range and is designed to operate over the extremely wide turndown capabilities of Maxon's modern industrial burner systems.
|
|
|
Operating conditions encountered in the automatic controlling of gas and air flows often require valves with an adjustable flow curve which can be altered at various points of opening to obtain the desired amount of flow. With Hauck adjustable flow valves, the flow rate can be easily changed at any of the 10 or more adjusting points provided. Therefore, the valve flow curve can be characterized to suit different constants in pressure, flow suction, or discharge resistance occuring at the minimum, maximum or in-between capacities.

What is the definition of cryogenic conditions? Cryogenic conditions occur when the temperature is lower than 120 degrees Kelvin (-153,15 °C). SOMAS supplies valves adapted for cryogenic conditions. We have adapted and modified our ball segment valves and butterfly valves to be able to operate under these extremely low tempereatures.
A great advantage of our cryogenic valves is their excellent ability to prevent icing of the bonnet and stuffing box, since they are fitted with an extended bonnet and the stuffing box is located on top. The cryogenic valves are also fitted with a metal or fibreglass seat. This further improves the functionality and performance of the valve.

1. FEATURES
The center of rotation is moved form the centerline of the valve body.
The seat and seal design remains conical and on the center.
This design again relies on a frictional, interference seal. but the length
of rotaion over which this friction occurs is reduced, allowing a larger
range of process resistant seat materials to be used.
However these materials must be relatively soft or highly elastic to
prevent jamming.

General description
Butterfly valves are the most efficient and reliable sealing Isolation valve mechanism under high vacuum working conditions. A vacuum seal provided around the plate periphery in the main body of the valve ensures fail proof working of the valve. For efficient working of the valve it is advised to ensure that the sealing plates are facing atmosphere.
Butterfly Valves are of small in terms of thickness which ensures easy and faster passage for air and gases and are ideally suited for "In-line" isolation purpose. Though the butterfly valve is not intended to be used as an independent valve, it is widely used as a Baffle Valve in union with a chevron baffle at the top of a Diffusion Pump. These Butterfly Valves are offered in stainless steel SS-304 non-magnetic AISI quality high carbon steel chromium plated construction and they can be manually or pneumatically operated as per customer choice.

Characteristics:
Japan Patent No1769954(40-300mm)
An original design with a spherical inner surface of the body contacting to spherical ends of the disc hub allows its self-alignment. This design ensures prevention of over-run of the disc.
(350-600mm) A spacer ring is provided between each end of the disc hub and the inner surface of the body for self-alignment of the disc. The over-run of the disc is prevented by a protrusion on the inner surface of the body.
Disc with thin but highly stiff rib:
(40-300mm) The disc has a thin, but highly stiff rib.
(350-600mm) The rib of disc has a convex figuration like an end plate of a tank. Either design has successfully reduced thermal expansion and shows a constant sealing capability against changes in temperature or pressure of fluid.
Double Eccentric Structure:
When the disc rotates, it unseats at a small open angle, by its cam effect. It prevents seat abrasion and provides perfect shut-off for a long period.
Seal the flow from both directions:
The valve can seal in reverse flow as well as the preferred direction, and cope with the flow direction changes. The ball lock method is adopted to facilitate the easy replacement of the seat ring. Metal seat and Teflon seat are both quickly replaceable.

"An unbeatable valve for use in engine exhaust pipes" would be a good description of the butterfly valves and ball segment valves specially designed and developed for this purpose by SOMAS.
The most commonly used and best adapted valve is the butterfly valve . Its simple, robust and maintenance-free basic construction makes it the premier choice for exhaust gas valves. It can be further customized with shaft sealing and/or bearing bushings to further enhance its performance, depending on the engine and fuel used. The ball segment valve is an alternate choice.
Exhaust valves and actuators
Exhaust valves are shipped bundled with actuators and positioners. Most actuators have customized mounting as well as high temperature gaskets in both the actuator and positioner. The positioners are also adapted to withstand the engine vibrations.
