ASSEMBLY ROBOTS:
Several models are available for a variety of assembly applications including the unique dual-arm SDA10D robot, the compact HP3 robot and the 7-axis SIA20D robot.
The slim, dual-arm SDA10D robot is strong, quick and agile. It provides “human-like” flexibility with 15 axes of motion (7 axes per arm, plus a single axis for base rotation). Powerful actuator-based design and best-in-class wrist characteristics make the SDA10D robot ideally suited for a wide variety of assembly, part transfer, machine tending, packaging and other handling tasks that formerly could only be done by people.
The compact, high-speed HP3 robot requires minimal installation space. It offers superior performance in small part applications such as assembly, dispensing, packaging, material handling and machine tending.
The SIA20D (Slim In-line Arm) robot features a revolutionary 7-axis design with best-in-class wrist performance characteristics that enables amazing freedom of movement, coupled with the ability to maneuver in very tight areas. Short axis lengths and extreme motion flexibility allow the slim SIA20D manipulator to be positioned out of the normal working area without limiting the motion range of any axis. The agile, versatile SIA20D opens up a wide range of industrial applications to robots and is ideal for assembly, injection molding, inspection, machine tending and a host of other operations.

Motoman SIA20 Assembly Robot
Compact, Lean and Powerful Arm
Lean and powerful, Motoman’s new SIA20 (slim, individual arm) robot features a revolutionary 7-axis design with best-in-class wrist performance characteristics that enables amazing freedom of movement, coupled with the ability to maneuver in very tight areas. The compact SIA20 has a 16% smaller footprint than the previous IA20 model, as well as five times faster acceleration for improved cycle times. The agile, versatile SIA20 opens up a wide range of industrial applications to robots and is ideal for assembly, injection molding, inspection, machine tending and a host of other operations.
The SIA20 robot features a 20 kg (44.1 lb) payload, 1,498 mm (59") vertical reach, 910 mm (35.8") horizontal reach and a repeatability of ±0.1 mm (0.004"). It can straighten vertically to take up only one square foot of floorspace and is just 330 mm (13") wide at the widest point.
Short axis lengths and extreme motion flexibility allow the slim manipulator to be positioned out of the normal working area (i.e. floor-, ceiling-, wall-, incline- or machine-mounted) without limiting the motion range of any axis. Mounting the SIA20 robot between two machine tools provides open access to the machines for fixture maintenance, adjustment or testing. Additionally, the operator has clear access to the machine operator station for entering offsets, maintenance or other operations.

TM Robotics offer a series of SCARA robots from the TH-250 through to the SR-1504. All have unique handling capabilities for varying workloads. The SCARA range can offer robots with arm lengths of 250mm to 1500mm, and workload capacitys from 3kg to 70kg.
Perhaps the most innovative of the Toshiba Machine SCARAs are the TH-250 and TH-350, which provide better accuracy and repeatability than comparable SCARA's, and offer quicker cycle times and faster motion. These new SCARA’s are so precise that they can even be used to good effect in the electronics industry. The TH-250 and TH-350 feature payloads of up to 3kg and repeatability of ?0.01mm. These robots are suited to applications in the handling of small components, such as electrical, mobile phone and camera parts, assembly and test equipment. Other applications that demand similar accuracy are hard disk drive assembly, as well as very high precision work, such as optical lens grinding and watch assembly. Furthermore, the TH-250 and TH-350 allow the user to place electronic components on PCB boards, or even handle the optical ‘pick up’ lenses used in CD and DVD disc drives.
