Description

Overview

  • The Type 337 longitudinal sight glass fitting is a rectangular inline viewing window with rounded ends, designed to be welded in or on container walls for reliable observation of liquid levels in closed vessels such as boilers, tanks and silos. It is built for high-pressure and elevated-temperature service and can be tailored to process requirements.


Key features

  • Sight glass plate: borosilicate glass to DIN 7081 (or per customer requirement).
  • Standard body material: stainless steel 1.4571 (316Ti); alternative materials available on request.
  • Rated for working pressures up to 25 barg (PN 25).
  • Suitable for liquid and gaseous media; available in multiple total lengths (BL 176–536 mm).
  • Glass plate clamped between seals and fastened for permanent tightness and pressure resistance.


Optical variants & protective measures

  • Reflex sight glass (prism structure) recommended for poorly lit vessels to improve level recognition.
  • Transparent sight glass recommended when undistorted view or color visibility of the medium is required.
  • Mica protection discs, FEP or Halar® coatings available to protect the glass against high temperature or aggressive chemicals; reflex glass cannot be combined with mica or coatings, transparent glass can.

  • Options: FEP protective coating/screen; mica protection; high-temperature version; near dead-space-free version; custom designs.
