The process data in both modes is 1 input and 1 output byte. In Shadow Input mode the input byte is set to 0. The outputs can be activated via the output byte. In Shadow Output mode, however, the outputs cannot be activated and the inputs can be used normally. The application of these products in harsh environments should always be checked before use.
